NEW: SA actress caught with drugs at OR Tambo airport

Johannesburg - A South African actress was caught allegedly trying to smuggle drugs worth an estimated R4.6m into the country at OR Tambo International Airport, the SA Revenue Service said on Monday.

Sars spokesperson Luther Lebelo said 15.4kg of ephedrine was found in the woman's bag on Sunday. She had arrived from Abu Dhabi. Ephedrine is used in the manufacture of crystal methamphetamine, or tik.
