NEWS: SA youth annual spend over R111bn

South Africa has a population of 50 million and 52% are younger than their mid-20s. According to research gathered by leading youth market specialist agency, HDI Youth Marketeers, these youths spend R111 billion annually.

 

Youth spending power has also steadily increased over the years as the sway they hold in the average household continues to grow.

• 2010 - R95.3bn
• 2011 - R98.7bn
• 2012 - R104.4bn
• 2013 - R105.4bn
• 2014 - R111.3bn
