NEWS: Michael Gove, Bill Gates and Christianity's reputation


 Michael Gove's statement on Christianity being cowed in the UK caught my attention recently.

Gove said the following, when trying to defend Christianity; "One of the saddest moments during my time as Education Secretary was the day I took a call from a wonderfully generous philanthropist who had devoted limitless time and money to helping educate disadvantaged children in some of the most challenging areas of Britain but who now felt he had no option but to step away from his commitments because his evangelical Christianity meant that he, and his generosity, were under constant attack.”











Compare this to Bill Gates - a very famous atheist philanthropist. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funds a lot of charitable work in the developing world, including schools, yet he has never once to my knowledge ever threatened to pull his charities because atheism is not popular in the countries he targets.
