NEWS: Religious leaders seek solutions to xenophobic attacks

Religious leaders from across the country will meet next week to discuss how they can help victims of xenophobic attacks. The religious community has joined government in condemning the attacks. They say violence cannot solve problems.

Religious leaders have condemned xenophobic attacks.

Five people have died in Durban since the violence broke out two weeks ago. Parts of Gauteng have also witnessed ugly scenes of migrants being attacked.

Co-chairperson of the Religious Leaders Council, Pastor Ray McCauley, says there is a need for urgent talks on possible short-term and long-term solutions.
