NEWS: The USA’s Food and Drug Administration has authorized an experimental antiviral drug for patients with Ebola

The USA’s Food and Drug Administration has authorized an experimental antiviral drug for patients with Ebola in an emergency step against the virus which is causing havoc in West Africa.

A North Carolina drug maker says physicians sought federal permission to use the drug, which is in late-stage testing| for other types of viruses.

Last Tuesday doctors in Dallas diagnosed the first U.S. case of Ebola in a man who recently arrived from Liberia.
