NEW: KZN residents told to drink lots of water as heatwave hits the 40s

Emergency services have warned about a current heatwave in KwaZulu-Natal, with parts of the province reaching well over 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.






















EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said the town of Stanger, north of Durban, had reached a whopping 44 degrees around midday.

"We want to caution people to please stay well hydrated. Do not only drink water when you are thirsty, rather maintain hydration throughout the day," he said.
