NEW: Afrikaans must be put in its place - Malema

Johannesburg - The Afrikaans language must no longer be imposed on people and should be put in its place, EFF leader Julius Malema said on Thursday.

"There are some elements who think Afrikaans is more superior than other... local languages," he told reporters in Johannesburg in response to a question about Stellenbosch University.
