NEWS: City of Joburg’s Old Age Homes in dire state

The City of Johannesburg is managing more than 20 Old Age Homes and not all of them meet the required norms and standards set out in the Older Persons Act.



Some of these buildings have no showers and residents are forced to share dirty and unhygienic bath tubs. It's even difficult for the  frail and sick to get around as some buildings are not wheelchair friendly and do not have support rails along stairways or in the bathrooms.
