NEWS: A hand washing campaign launched to prevent the spread of diseases like Ebola

The Minister of Health, Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, in partnership with the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa, will on Monday launch a campaign to raise awareness on the importance of hand-washing in the prevention of infectious diseases such as Ebola.

The Ministry of Health says regular hand washing with clean water and soap, or a liquid hand wash, or the use of sanitizers, has proven to be the best defence against viruses spreading from one person to the other.

The Ministry says there are no cases of Ebola in South Africa, but prevention is better than cure.
