Five
family members travelled throughout the night from the Eastern Cape to
see a family member who survived the collapse in Nigeria.
Moyo-Mjomaile
Xoliswa was one of the 25 injured South Africans who arrived in the
country yesterday morning. Moyo’s family waited for hours to see her.
“On Saturday, [the day after the collapse] we started to worry. She only phoned us that Monday,” Moyo’s husband, Deseling, said.
Deseling claims his wife was healed from high blood pressure and aching knees by the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
The
family were unsure about the extent of Moyo’s injuries, but knew both
her legs were broken. “We don’t know a lot. We just spoke to her
briefly. We will hear when we speak to her,” Moyo’s sister, Tsheko
Nozimasile said.
Tsheko
said they felt “left in the dark” – and although their social worker
tried to answer all their questions yesterday, many were still left
unanswered. “We phoned Nigeria so many times but their government never
came back to us,” she said.
But
they are thankful Moyo is alive. “When she called us she was like an
angel. We have to thank God … Moyo said we should. She said it’s like
she has been born again,” Tsheko said.
The family said the church acted correctly. “They even gave my mother the phone to call us,” Moyo said.
