NEWS: Singer humbled to the bones

Pietermaritzburg singer Vincent Bones, who has captivated the country with his performances on South African Idols, was rewarded with a top 16 place yesterday.

Bones ( 29) — who is a worship leader at the Eagle Christian Centre, where he lives with his wife and twomonthold baby boy — used to roam the streets of Sunnyside in Gauteng, eating leftovers from rubbish bins.

After being given the good news by the judges, Bones said he felt humbled that he could continue to pursue his dream. The singer will be performing for the public vote in the first live show on MNet and Mzansi Magic ( DStv channel 161) on Sunday, August 31.

Fans can keep in touch with Bones through his Facebook page: SA Idols Vincent Bones.
